Party on?

Great article from the Wall Street Journal about the decline of political parties and rise of close elections.

The 2 party system is failing the American public.The polarization in Congress and the American public has come to a point where even an amazing idea or bill is bound to blocked by democrats of republicans due to 'not wanting the other party to "win"'.Everyone who seems left of us on an issue becomes a “liberal”. Everyone right of us becomes a “conservative”.

I think we can safely say that this country has not been this divided since the civil war. The US has become states of red and blue not one whole nation.
In contemporary elections you are forced to vote for the lesser of two evils, not necessarily the candidate that you believe will do a better job.
