"Trade agreements have made the poorest worse off and condemned thousands to death through AIDS"...I suppose I would have to read the book to understand this comment, but the reviewer left it hanging there like the stench of a dead woodchuck under the porch, so I felt the need to mention that it is bizarre.
The idea that globalization favors the rich countries is soemthing my son could have thought up. It is worth noting that the entire tenor of the book (as I read it from the review) insinuates trade from the rich countries to the poor countries, when in reality 90% (my estimate) is between two rich countries setting rules in dealing with each other. This seems more like a plea for foreign aid seperate from trade agreements.
